Saltbridge: an orange arc forming a bridge silhouette above the Saltbridge wordmark
AI readiness advisory

Most AI initiatives don't fail on the technology.

They fail because the data underneath them can't be trusted, the processes around them were designed for a different era, and no one at the top can say what good looks like.

We fix the layer underneath

Saltbridge works with CEOs and CIOs to fix that layer. We tell you which AI opportunities are real, what your data foundations need before they'll carry any of it, and which processes to rebuild rather than automate. Then we help you put the operating model in place to run it.

Saltbridge solves the readiness gap between what AI promises and what an organization's data, processes, and operating model can actually support.

We're direct about what won't work. That tends to save more money than the parts that do.
What the engagement is for
Before you engage anyone

What you actually want to know

The four questions a skeptical CIO is already asking, answered in one flat sentence each.

Q.01

Can our data actually carry what we're planning?

Usually not yet — we assess that before recommending anything.

Q.02

How do we know a pilot won't just prove the technology and die anyway?

We agree the go or no-go threshold before it starts.

Q.03

What will you tell us not to do?

Whichever initiative your data or process can't yet carry.

Q.04

Are you going to build this for us, or just tell us what to build?

Neither — we sell the judgment call on what's real.

The engagements

What we do

Five, in the order they usually run. No prices are listed — none have been set yet.

01AI Opportunity Assessment

A structured read on where AI creates value in your business and where it doesn't. You get a ranked shortlist with cost, effort, and expected return against each one, plus a clear view of what to leave alone.

02Data Foundations Review

An honest assessment of whether your data can support what you're planning. Where it can't, you get a sequenced plan to close the gap, priced and staged so it can be funded alongside the initiatives that depend on it.

03Process Redesign

Automating a broken process makes it faster at being broken. We identify which workflows need rebuilding for a data-led environment and which are fine as they are, then redesign the ones that matter.

04Pilot Design and Delivery

Most pilots are built to prove the technology works, which is the wrong question. We design pilots to test the thing that will actually kill the project: whether the data holds up, whether the process change sticks, whether anyone will use it. Success thresholds are agreed before the pilot starts, so the go or no-go decision is made on evidence rather than sunk cost.

05Scale-Up

The gap between a working pilot and a production capability is where most programs die. We handle the transition: integration into core systems, the controls and governance the business needs to sign off, cost modeling at volume, and the team structure to run it.

Method

How this practice works

01

We diagnose before we recommend

02

We separate what's real from what's fashionable

03

We won't automate a broken process

04

We design pilots to fail honestly, not to flatter the technology

05

We will tell you to stop

What happens next

How an engagement begins

A first call, a written note before it, and a straight read on the situation.

01

A first call in which we give you a straight read on the situation.

02

What we ask you to bring to it: what you're trying to decide, and what you already believe about your data.

03

And the point at which we tell you not to proceed, if that's the honest read.
